MEET THE FOUNDER & CEO
Hey, I'm Alex!
I started the Creative Music System after 20 years as a private instructor of music lessons in piano, voice, guitar, bass, drums, production, and composition. I hold degrees from Manhattan School of Music and Northwestern University in Piano Performance, Music Technology, and German Language and made my living from teaching music after graduating.
While I performed a lot locally as a classical musician or a pop/rock/electronic musician, it felt difficult to break through to get the gigs I really wanted and make recordings of my own originals that were high quality.
Ever since I graduated from school and began teaching, I noticed there were many unanswered questions after this moment:
Why is learning music so inefficient and expensive?
Why were the great composers and performers able to do what they did and others fell behind?
Why isn't composition, improvisation, and creation at the center of music education?
After the pandemic, I decided to take my lessons online with my students. At first I was reluctant, if not disappointed. But after a few years, I began to see the HUGE benefits of learning online using a few free or cheap tools to focus your learning.
Once I started applying my personal creative process to my teaching and using tools that facilitate this process for students, I saw students beginning to break down barriers and explore things they wouldn't be able to in normal private lessons.
Through creating side by side with learning to play, most of the problems that were major hurdles for private students were MAGICALLY SOLVED!
